The Story So Far
I spend my time decoding the cultural signals that shape how we live, dress, and think. With a background that spans the fast-paced world of digital media and the analytical rigor of corporate trend forecasting, my work centers on untangling the meaning behind social and aesthetic movements—and translating those insights into bold, engaging content.
Most recently, as a Staff Editor at Hypebeast, I lived on the front lines of contemporary culture. In two years, I produced over a thousand web articles and social content pieces for a global platform boasting upwards of 20 million followers. My daily beat bridged fast-paced industry news, deep-dive cultural essays, and high-profile profiles and interviews with cultural vanguards like Takashi Murakami, Missy Elliott, Tremaine Emory, Rauw Alejandro, and Simone Bellotti.
Before shaping the daily cultural narrative at Hypebeast, I worked on the predictive side of the industry as a Cultural Strategist and Trend Editor at Fashion Snoops. There, I drove the concepting, drafting, and visual design of macro trend reports, providing future-facing advisory and market foresight webinars for Fortune 500 brands.
My editorial foundations were built in the indie publishing world as the Managing Editor and Senior Fashion Editor of Ink Magazine, an award-winning arts and culture publication in Richmond, Virginia. Driven by a passion for community-centric storytelling, I also secured a publishing grant from the Anderson Gallery to found Chelo Chelo, a collaborative zine dedicated to amplifying AAPI creatives. My 360-degree view of the creative ecosystem is rounded out by hands-on industry experience as an E-commerce stylist at NSTO (Need Supply Co. & Totokaelo) and roles in public relations and communications.
My Philosophy
At my core, I’m a theory nerd and a bookshop wanderer who loves history, literature, art, and media theory. But I’m also intensely tapped into the immediate, fast-moving "now" of pop culture, fashion, and technology. I believe the best storytelling happens when you anchor real-time trends into a deeper historical and structural context.
Whether I'm writing an editorial feature, advising a brand, or ideating a creative campaign, I bring an adaptive mindset, an innate understanding of consumer behavior, and a rigorous standard of quality to everything I touch.
